Marques J. Ruff, baritone, has exploded on the musical scene in Connecticut in a large way. Noted for his exceptional artistry and meticulous attention to detail with regards to phrasing and lyricism, Mr. Ruff is beginning to leave an indelible mark on each musical stage he stands on. With a degree in Voice Performance from Central Connecticut State University, Mr. Ruff has had the pleasure of performing extensively both locally and internationally. An international debut at the prestigious Notre Dame and La Madeleine, in Paris France; as well as a tour of the country of China and several of its provinces including: Shendong, Beijing and Hong Kong have marked Mr. Ruff’s internatinal endeavors to date. He is the recipient of the University Singers Scholarship and during his tenure in college participated in both the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Region Collegiate Honor Choir and the National Collegiate Honor Choir. He is theĀ founder of both the Central A cappella Society at Central Connecticut State University and the Music Director Emeritus of DIVISI, CCSU’s first and only all-male a cappella group. Voice teachers/coaches include: Ms. Joanne Scattergood, Ms. Jolie Rocke-Brown and Mr. Maksim Ivanoff. With a focus on healthy singing and solid technique, Mr. Ruff works assiduously to give students the necessary tools to teach themselves to sing well.
