Melanie Wade is a native of southeastern Connecticut. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Ithaca College, where she studied with Dr. David Parks, Larry Doebler, and Dr. Janet Galván. She performed several roles with Ithaca College Opera and Opera Workshop, and toured the eastern United States as a soloist with the Ithaca College Choir. While in Ithaca, she also enjoyed success as a competitor in local and state vocal competitions. Melanie is currently teaching high school music at Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical School in Groton, CT. She is also a cantor at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Gales Ferry, CT. She sings regularly for the Army National Guard and in the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus. Melanie is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from the Hartt School of Music.
