Originally from Marlborough, CT, Samuel is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2007. At UConn, he was a member of UConn’s Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Peter Bagley, Collegium Musicum under Dr. Eric Rice, a bass soloist for UConn’s annual Messiah Sing, and was musical director of UConn’s premier all-male vocal ensemble, A Completely Different Note. In addition to his singing, he performed three full length piano recitals and was an active accompanist. In 2007-2008, Samuel was the assistant director of the Vernon Chorale under Ehren Brown after having been a singer in the ensemble. Presently, he teaches chorus, seventh grade general music, and the KP Singers at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford and is pursuing his Masters in Music Education from Central Connecticut State University. He is a baritone section leader at Immanuel Congregational Church in Hartford and serves as a substitute accompanist for local choirs.
