Teamwork
Voce works and performs like a team – that has not changed. Our process has.
Based on a leadership model designed by Tom Cooke, co-founder of Voce, the new look for Voce is more sleek and more mobile. Described as an “ensemble populated by virtuosi” by famed American composer, Morten Lauridsen, the members of Voce are now involved in all aspects of our extraordinary product. The members of Voce are proven artistic leaders in our community. We are confident that sharing artistic and adminstrative responsiblity will enhance the experience for performers and patrons of the arts.
Community
Why we sing is as important as what we sing. It’s what we do.
Since our founding in 2006, Voce has worked hand in hand with deserving community organizations- using its unique voice to support efforts to address significant community needs. Voce strives to achieve excellence in the performing arts – and to put the arts to work for the benefit of others.
The current focus of our mission is to provide performance and educational opportunities for today’s singers and the next generations of musicians. We are a vocational ensemble – we use our music to evoke artistry in others. Adult, College, high school and elementary school choirs are regularly featured in our concerts. Last year, we assisted in the start-up of an after school music program at Hartford’s two public high schools. Voce wants to “pay it forward” by enriching the musical lives of Hartford’s own, and thereby ensuring the future of choral music in our community.
Timing
Our concerts are an experience in sound, not in length. Your time matters to us.
One thing our fans have grown to love is our timing – and timing is everything. The Voce concert experience is meant to enhance your afternoon or evening – not consume it. Our productions are planned down to the minute and are fine-tuned to maximize appreciation while being sensitive to overall duration. We at Voce understand that too much of a good thing can often jeopardize the audience experience. That is why we present our concerts in one hour. If they’re longer, we will tell you. We strive to be the best musical hour around – and you can count on it.
Green
Voce is a voice for the environment – no more junk mail. Period.
We at Voce are committed to the environment. We have eliminated unnecessary expenses in favor of more efficient web-based administrative tools and environmentally friendly practices. By creating a virtual office instead of a traditional office space we have eliminated the need for excesses that often accompany other ensembles. Because we are committed to web-based interaction, our need for natural resources has been drastically reduced. We at Voce are proud that our new design enhances the artistic experience while reducing our carbon footprint. While our need for office space has been eliminated, the artistic and charitable vision of the ensemble continues to grow.
