Dear HPS Families, We are excited to inform you that your child has been invited to participate in the Hartford Youth Chorus, a dynamic singing group designed for students in grades 1 through 8, and consist of students from West Middle, Kinsella, and Renzulli. Rehearsals will take place every Monday during the school year at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, located at 814 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT. Students will be transported by bus from their respective schools with a designated chaperone, to Asylum Hill for rehearsal. Rehearsals will conclude at 5:15 PM, at which time a designated parent or guardian is required to pick up the student at the church entrance on the east side (off Asylum Avenue). With your support and your child’s participation, we aim to grow the chorus to include 80-100 participants, ages 6-18, from the Greater Hartford area. Members of the chorus will be introduced to choral singing, receive expert training from professional musicians, gain access to artistic performances, and have opportunities to perform at prestigious venues and community events, including sporting events. Over time, we hope the Hartford Youth Chorus will become a source of community pride and a cultural treasure in Hartford and throughout the state of Connecticut.
